November 28th, 2007 · No Comments

Guten Morgen!

Also, bis spaeter!

A Week without World Language

October 17th, 2007 · 1 Comment

I am missing my world language classes and students very much this week.  We have three full days of the NECAP testing.  No classes during this time.  I hope you are all reviewing your vocabulary words and have completed the word search and crossword puzzles.  Even when we have no class and no “official” homework you should continue to practice speaking every day.  The dialogues the German classses wrote and performed were very good.  I was so proud of the work you have done and the progress you have made.  Gute Arbeit!

Guten Morgen, Klasse! Was ist dein Name?  Wie alt bist du?

Jetzt lernen wir die Farben.  Was ist deine Lieblingsfarbe?  Meine Lieblingsfarbe ist rosa.

Also, bis naechstes Mal!

Español I

¡Buenas días, estudiantes!  What a successful month we have had in Spanish I.  The results of the Local Summative Assessment were magnifico! You showed enduring understanding of el alfabeto, el diccionario, y los mapas.  We are moving into Unit 2 where we will learn los números, los días, y los meses.  You will learn to express the date and talk about the seasons. Next we will learn el vobabulario for the classroom.   I think it would be fun to label everything in the classroom  en español.  What do you think?  Let me know.  ¡Hasta luego!

Guten Morgen! ¡Buenos días!

September 17th, 2007 · 1 Comment

I have so enjoyed the past two weeks getting to know you and introducing you to the World of Languages.  We have accomplished much in a short time.  We are greeting one another in the target language. We can find out what someone’s name is and ask them how they are.  In Spanish class we are discovering together the location of the 21 countries in the world where Spanish is an official language.  In German class we are learning to count and tell our age.

We are just beginning our journey.  You have been issued your passport to discover a world of language.

Gute Reise!  ¡Buen viaje!
